Gareth Davies MP has today wished the new Mayor of Grantham, Cllr Mark Whittington, well in his new role, after receiving the mayoral robe and chains of office at a ceremony in the South Kesteven District Council chamber on St Peter’s Hill.
As a vital part of local heritage, Grantham has had either a Mayor or an Alderman for at least 500 years. Today, the Mayor continues to be a figurehead for Grantham, promoting the town to be an even better place to live and do business.
Gareth has also sent his thanks to the outgoing Mayor, Cllr Graham Jeal, for his hard work and dedication to the role over the past year.
