Gareth Davies MP has welcomed today’s announcement from the Home Office that there are now 20,000 additional police officers on our streets across England and Wales, including the 189 new officers recruited for Lincolnshire.
This success delivers on the Government’s 2019 manifesto commitment to recruit 20,000 additional police officers by March 2023. By bringing the total number to nearly 150,000 officers, more than 3,500 higher than the previous peak in 2010, there are now more police officers in England and Wales than ever before.
Gareth said:
“I am delighted that we have delivered on yet another key manifesto commitment, ensuring that there are more police officers on our streets in Lincolnshire and across the country.
Public safety will always be one of my key priorities for our community, and I will continue to back Lincolnshire Police through better equipment, greater powers, and more officers to make our streets safer and to protect our people.”
