Gareth Davies MP has today celebrated the progress of the Down Syndrome Act 2022 and the development of the Down Syndrome Act Guidance on World Down Syndrome Day.
As a landmark piece of legislation, the Act has made great strides in de-stigmatising Down syndrome, improving the health, educational and local support services, and dealing with future issues, such as long term care.
To add to his support, Gareth has backed the #WithUsNotForUs campaign, aimed at highlighting that everyone who has Down syndrome has their own skills, talents, and life ambitions.
Gareth said:
“I was delighted to meet with Dr Liam Fox MP and the National Down Syndrome Policy Group ambassadors - Heidi, Max and James - as they launched their campaign.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to pledge my support to further build on the great work of the Down Syndrome Act 2022 in making our community more accessible for people with Down syndrome.”
