Gareth Davies MP today met with representatives from Marie Curie at their event in Parliament to show his support for the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal and to learn more about their work.
To help raise awareness of their work, Gareth joined other MPs in wearing the charity’s symbol - a yellow daffodil - during Prime Minister’s Questions later in the day.
Now in its 37th year, Marie Curie’s flagship fundraising appeal brings together thousands of supporters from across our country to support the charity’s nurses, doctors, and hospice staff who continue to work to provide expert care to people at the end of their lives.
Marie Curie provided direct support to more than 66,000 people last year, both in people’s own homes and in their nine hospices. The cost of providing palliative and end of life care to people in need in the UK is estimated to be over £1 billion each year, and the majority of this care is provided by charitable hospices.
