The Prime Minister announced today that the Government will provide further support to the people of Ukraine who have been displaced due to Russia's invasion by matching donations to the Disasters Emergency Committee Appeal.
Health facilities, water supplies, and schools have been damaged and destroyed across Ukraine and the UN now estimates that more than 800,000 people have left the country, taking with them only what they can carry on their backs. Every pound donated will be matched by the government, up to £20 million in order to help provide essential supplies like emergency food, bedding, and hygiene supplies to support the innocent people who are suffering under the shadow of Putin's naked aggression.
