Gareth Davies has welcomed the news that Grantham Hospital is set to benefit from a £12 million national funding boost from the Department of Health and Social Care.
This will be used to expand and improve areas of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust’s sites as well as upgrading digital capability for the benefits of patients and staff.
The investment is made up of:
- £5 million for two new laminar flow theatres at Grantham Hospital
- £3.3 million to refurbish and expand the critical surgery wards at Boston and Grantham Hospital
- £1.1 million for the replacement of the digital cardiology system
- £2.5 million for an artificial intelligence solution to support triage and management of the patient waiting list
- £600,000 for a digital solution to support the Musculoskeletal pathway
Gareth commented,
I am delighted with the news that Grantham Hospital is set to benefit from additional funding.
The investments announced today will allow patients to access a broader range of services at Grantham and help to ease the existing waiting list for treatment. This forms part of the government’s £34 billion of additional funding which is being invested into the NHS this winter to ensure access to the right care, in the right place, at the right time for those who need it.
