Gareth Davies MP today met with Viscount Younger of Leckie, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Minister with direct responsibility for the Child Maintenance Service (CMS).
The CMS plays a vital role in ensuring that parents meet the living costs of their children. 160,000 children are taken out of poverty each year through its important work.
It is in everyone’s interest that the CMS provides an efficient and reliable service, and Gareth was pleased to receive an update from the Minister on his efforts to improve the CMS’ performance.
Gareth also made representations on behalf of several of his constituents following their own experiences with the CMS, ensuring that key decision makers are aware of how the service functions at an individual level and this can be taken into account going forward.
