Gareth Davies MP has today received a welcomed update from the Home Secretary, Suella Braverman MP, on policing in Lincolnshire.
Alongside 189 more officers as part of the Government’s Police Uplift Programme and fewer recorded crimes last year than in 2019, Lincolnshire Police will receive almost £6 million in additional funding under the Police Funding Settlement in 2023/24 compared to last year.
Lincolnshire also continues to benefit from additional targeted schemes, including £1 million from multiple rounds of the Safer Streets Fund with a focus on tackling violence against women, neighbourhood crime, and anti-social behaviour.
Within South Kesteven, we have also upgraded ageing CCTV technology as part of the £3.9 million that our area received as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. There are currently more than 70 cameras covering local public open spaces in Grantham, Stamford, and Bourne - all of which are monitored 24/7.
Grantham is also now home to Lincolnshire’s Road Policing Unit, ensuring that our county’s road network is off limits for criminals, making local roads safer as a result. In addition, the formation of a new Rural Crime Action Team means that there is a team of officers dedicated to tackling crimes in our countryside such as hare coursing and machinery theft.

“It is great to receive this update which clearly shows that our local police continue to do excellent work to keep us all safe.
Public safety is one of my key priorities for our community, and through greater funding, better equipment, and more officers, I continue to back Lincolnshire Police to make our streets safer and to protect our people.”
