Gareth was delighted by National Highways’ announcement this week that it will invest £196 million to improve roads in the Midlands, and in particular £4.3 million to upgrade the A1 within the constituency.
The new funding will see the southbound carriageway on the A1 between Wothorpe and South Witham be resurfaced, which will ensure safety and reliability for years to come.
Improving the A1 has been one of Gareth’s top priorities as MP, which he has raised in Parliament as well as in meetings with local and national stakeholders.
Gareth continues to urge those responsible at National Highways to fund improvements such as lengthening slip roads and closing dangerous crossovers.
