Gareth Davies MP has welcomed the excellent news that The Little Gonerby Church of England Primary Academy in Grantham and the Bourne Abbey Church of England Primary Academy are set to receive a share of over £450 million in extra national funding to upgrade school buildings across the country,
859 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools will receive a share of £456 million from the Condition Improvement Fund, with over 1,000 projects selected. This new investment will upgrade and improve school and college facilities, providing pupils with safer and warmer classrooms, and more energy efficient school buildings.
This is part of the £1.8 billion of capital funding for the financial year 2023-24 to improve the condition of school buildings.
Gareth said:
“I am delighted by this news which will directly support two excellent local schools to continue serving children and families in their parts of Grantham and Bourne.
As part of the significant Government support in this area, this investment will further upgrade school buildings so that our children can continue to learn in a safe and happy environment.”
