Gareth Davies MP has thanked students and teachers involved in setting-up and running The King’s School Toy Bank at Grantham’s George Shopping Centre.
Over the last few weeks, donations have poured in from across the local community demonstrating Grantham’s spirit of generosity.
The toy bank, which opened on 6th December and remains open until 13th December, has so far provided toys for over 100 children whose families require extra support this Christmas.
In order to collect from the toy bank, people must show proof that they are in receipt of child benefit, which can be done through showing a statement or bank statement which shows the benefit payment.
Gareth said:
“It was wonderful to be able to thank the students and teachers on behalf of our whole community who are involved in running this excellent initiative.
Alongside significant Government support for all families with the cost of living and targeted support to those most in need, local community groups continuing to support people in our area symbolises the true spirit of Christmas!”
