Gareth Davies MP today visited St George's Primary School, The Bluecoat School and New College Stamford with Vincent Brittain, CEO - Inspire+ to see first hand how the Government's Sports Premium funding is being used by schools to provide fund and engaging PE lessons. inspire+ is a Grantham based sport and education charity.
Inspire+ is a unique charity, who's vision is to ensure young people are ‘Healthy, Happy and Active’. As well as providing a comprehensive and valued programme of support for schools, the charity is also a leading PE and School Sport apprenticeship training provider. Gareth is a firm supporter of the PE and Sport Premium.
The Education Secretary announced in July that schools in England will benefit from £320 million from the PE and Sport Premium during the academic year 2020-21.
The PE and Sport Premium is designed to help children get an active start in life, supporting primary schools to improve the quality of their PE and sport provision so that pupils experience the benefits of regular exercise – from becoming healthier both mentally and physically to improved behaviour and better academic achievement.
