Gareth Davies MP has welcomed the recent rise in the State Pension in line with the increase in the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) in the 12 months from September 2021 to September 2022, as guaranteed under the Government’s Triple Lock.
Following the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s announcement during the Autumn Statement that the Government will protect the Triple Lock for pensions in full, the State Pension has now risen by 10.1% from 10th April 2023, in line with the inflation figures for September 2022.
Almost 24,000 pensioners within the constituency of Grantham & Stamford will directly benefit from this rise from this week onwards.
Protecting the Triple Lock will ensure that pensioners are supported with the cost of living and provide security for their future. This latest rise provides pensioners with the biggest cash increase ever in the State Pension - a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to supporting our pensioners.
