Local MP, Gareth Davies today welcomed news that four local football clubs will receive a significant funding boost from the Premier League’s Matchday Support Fund.
This funding will help the costs of adjustments that need to be made to safely cater for the return of players and supporters.
The Matchday Support Fund is being delivered by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) - the grant-giving body that provides Premier League funding to support ground improvements for clubs in the professional, women's and non-league games.
Gareth Davies MP said: “I was very pleased to see the return of competitive football in August and that the new season started in September across all the leagues. I am therefore delighted that our local clubs have been awarded Premier League funding to help prepare their stadia for football's safe return.”
The following clubs will receive;
- Bourne Town F.C. £2,000
- Harrowby United F.C. £2,000
- Stamford AFC £7,000
- Grantham Town FC £10,000
