Gareth Davies MP has today welcomed the news that two tennis courts in Grantham’s Wyndham Park have now been refurbished thanks to investment of around £60,000 to ensure that more local people have access to high-quality grassroots sports facilities.
Nationally, 1,000 public tennis courts have now been refurbished in the first phase of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) programme, backed by £21.6 million from the Government and £8.4 million by the LTA on the eve of Wimbledon.
As in Grantham, every court being refurbished will also benefit from access to the LTA online booking system and digital access gates, to make getting onto court as easy and secure as possible for tennis players. The two refurbished courts in Grantham will now be managed by the Grantham Tennis Club.
