At Business Questions today, Gareth asked the Leader of the House of Commons, Rt. Hon. Mark Spencer MP, whether he would consider setting aside parliamentary time for a debate on implementing minimum service levels during strike action. If implemented, such a measure (as currently exists in countries like France, Italy, and Spain) would ensure a 'skeleton' service on national services of critical importance - such as the NHS, the railways, and fire and ambulance services - during industrial action, to ensure that the people of the UK are protected and have access to essential services during periods of striking.
