Gareth Davies MP is urging all veterans to complete the Government’s first UK-wide survey of veterans and their families, aiming to better understand the unique requirements of the Armed Forces community.
The ONS survey, commissioned by the Office of Veterans’ Affairs, encourages those who have served to share their experience of life after leaving the Armed Forces. The Government wants to make the UK the best place in the world for veterans to live by 2028.
You can complete the survey by following the link below - the survey is open for 12 weeks from 10th November:
The Census 2021 showed that there were 1.85 million people (3.8%) in England and Wales who reported that they had previously served in the Armed Forces. This means that almost 1 in 25 people aged 16 or over in England and Wales was a veteran as of last year.
Locally within South Kesteven, 7.4% or some 8,693 people have previously served our country in uniform - one of the highest figures in the country.
